About Me
Hello, my name is Lotje McDonald and I’m a Landscape, Bird/Animal and Sports Photographer, based in Gippsland, Victoria, Australia.
Although I have been a keen photographer since I was in my teens, it has really only been in the past 10 years that I took my hobby a step further. My two sons played a lot of sports in their younger years and this is where my love for Sports Photography developed, and when my business ‘Lotje McDonald Photography’ was first born.
In 2011, I joined a local Camera Club and developed my skills by entering competitions and listening to the feedback from judges. With no formal study behind me, but a good ‘eye’, I am constantly improving by means of workshops, videos and club presentations. I also work as a Real Estate Photographer for a local business which is also an area I really enjoy. The drone I have used specifically for Real Estate is now also an intrinsic part of my Landscape photography, from local beach scenes to abstract landscapes!
Markets
Not having a gallery means I am travelling around Gippsland to take my photography to local art & craft markets. I love markets, talking to like minded people and showing my photography on a finished product whether it is on canvas, matted, or framed.
One of my best selling products are my 1000 piece jigsaw puzzles, featuring local scenes.
Cards & Calendars
Furthermore I sell greeting cards and each year a Gippsland Landscape Calendar and a Bird Calendar.
I have been very fortunate with a large following in the Gippsland area. One day there are plans for a more permanent exhibition space.
