Description
Although not an Australian Owl, the Eurasian Eagle Owl is a magnificent looking owl species. One of the largest in the world. Females can grow to a total length of 75 cm, with a wingspan of 188 centimetres. Males are slightly smaller. This bird has distinctive ear tuffs, with upper parts that are mottled with darker blackish colouring and tawny. The wings and tail are barred. The underparts are a variably hued buff, streaked with darker colouring. The facial disc is not very defined. The orange eyes are distinctive. I took this shot during a raptor show in The Netherlands. Unless in stock turnaround times are : Prints 1-2 weeks, Framed Prints 2-4 weeks, Canvas Prints 3-4 weeks.
